Position Description:

The candidate will be responsible for compiling wire copy, editing copy and writing headlines for the expanded Olympic section. Candidate must have strong copy editing skills. Also the candidate will produce, manage and update Olympic cover and subsections. Producer is responsible for working with the publishing tools to do the hands-on content preparation for a specific sport.

Qualifications:

BA or BS in liberal arts or journalism, or equivalent experience.

At least 5 years working for online news organizations as a producer or editor.

Excellent sports news judgment.

Understanding of capabilities of Internet.

Excellent communication skills.

Flexibility.

Ability to collaborate effectively with others.

Must be a quality editor with experience on the Sports beat with utmost attention to detail.

Team-oriented yet self-sufficient, able to work well across teams with a minimum of direction.

Ability to manage time efficiently, handling daily news needs and multiple ongoing projects.
