On Wednesday, July 9th at 18.30, the Brazilian brothers Fernando and Humberto Campana will take centerstage at SPD during the next DesignTalks lecture. The conference, open to the general public, is part of the Summer School programme promoted by SPD with the participation of leading names at international level: the Campanas, Ross Lovegrove, Matalì Crasset, Martì Guixé. Guests will be introduced by Cristina Morozzi, curator of both the DeepDesign Summer School.
Over the past 25 years, Fernando and Humberto Campana have rooted their work in the research for an innovative and original use of materials pursuing new aesthetics solutions. Challenging the common sense, their pieces are famous for giving shape to dreams. They are often inspired by everyday commodities, waste material and industrial goods they reprocess thus providing second-generation objects with aesthetical dignity. Products can be made from recovered items or else originated by the transfer of the commonest consumer goods out of their peculiar context and function.

DesignTalks is the series of lectures promoted every year by SPD to explore the most interesting research trends in contemporary design ranging from graphics and multimedia to product design and architecture. The integration of different media, between design and technologies, research and professional practice will take center stage during the meetings. After Etienne Mineur, Theredbox, Studio Najbrt, Erik Kessels from Kessels Kramer, Dimitri Bruni from Norm, Ross Lovegrove, Fernando and Humberto Campana, the next DesignTalks on schedule will be Matali Crasset (Wednesday, July16th) and Martì Guixé (Wednesday, July 23rd).
