Quark Inc. announced that leading QuarkXPress® XTensions® developers are offering a special introductory “Buy v7 XTensions, Get v8 XTensions Free” promotion for a limited time only.
In support of Quark’s own promotion — that is currently providing free upgrades to QuarkXPress 8 with any QuarkXPress 7 purchase — a host of well-known QuarkXPress XTensions developers are offering users the same for their products. Developers are working to ensure that users who are upgrading will not experience downtime in the transition and can continue to benefit from the automated and expedited workflows that XTensions offer.
“XTensions developers are a mature software-development community and have been through many QuarkXPress revisions in the past. We’ve all learned from these and now together, we work diligently to ensure timely releases of XTensions modules critical to our customers’ workflow,” said Cyndie Shaffstall, director of Quark’s QuarkAlliance program for XTensions developers. “We can make early and seamless adoption possible by recognizing and addressing each end user’s reliance on third-party solutions. Quark® has done its part by ensuring that developers have early access and better developer support to assist in the revisioning process.”
Qualifying products are being offered from recognized developers such as: Compusense, Badia Software, GLUON, JoLauterbach, Layout, Ltd., Em Software, Gassenhuber, InfoLogic, Virginia System, XTmaker Studio, OnOne Software, and Insider Software on most of the XTensions in their product lines.
“With thousands of commercially available XTensions for QuarkXPress that directly integrate with a production or design environment, end users can realize an immediate return on their investment. Tedious and repetitive tasks associated with publishing projects can be automated with XTensions technology, saving users time and money,” said Terry Welty, Quark Senior Vice President of Corporate Marketing. “Database publishing, indexing and footnoting, pre-flighting, hyphenation and spellchecking, imposition, graphic management, batch printing, color management, and much more are streamlined or eliminated when using third-party XTensions.”
Since the release of QuarkXPress v3.0, XTensions have become an integral part of millions of end users’ workflows and some of these have been available since that inception in the very early 90s. After nearly two decades, XTensions continue to provide users with advanced solutions for their specific requirements, easily and affordably.
