The 2007 portfolio from the late faculty member Jeffrey Metzner’s Motion Graphics program has won top prize at the Golden Award of Montreux competition. The Golden Awards recognize creative excellence in seven categories of advertising and multimedia, and chose the SVA students’ work in the overall Talent category.
The portfolio, titled Motion Graphics: The Next Dimension, was chosen by an international jury of industry professionals, including Frank Bodin, the chairman and CEO of Euro RSCG Switzerland; and Monica Moro, executive creative director of McCann Erickson Madrid.
Also, alumnus Julia Hoffman (BFA 2002 Graphic Design) has just been named Creative Director of Advertising and Graphic Design for New York City’s Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). In this capacity, Hoffmann will be overseeing MoMA’s advertising and graphic design projects, including print, broadcast, outdoor and online advertising; exhibition graphics and signage; the Museum’s printed materials, including brochures and invitations; and other special projects.
