In a move to ensure that Convention operations run smoothly and efficiently, the Democratic National Convention Committee (DNCC) named Motorola the Official Two-Way Radio Provider of the 2008 Democratic National Convention, to be held August 25-28 in Denver, Colorado.
In this capacity, Motorola will provide the Convention with mission-critical communications hardware, 300 two-way radios, more than 900 iDEN® push-to-talk units and a radio frequency (RF) network that Convention planners will use to communicate with one another in and around Convention venues, including the Pepsi Center, INVESCO Field at Mile High and the Colorado Convention Center.
“With thousands of staff and volunteers, hundreds of vehicles and buses and multiple Convention venues, a rapid and reliable communications system is at the core of our operations infrastructure and essential to its success,” said Cameron Moody, DNCC Deputy CEO for Outside the Hall Operations. “As a veteran of Democratic National Conventions and other large-scale, multi-site events, I’m glad to have Motorola as part of our team to help ensure that the Democratic National Convention runs smoothly and efficiently.”
