September 2008
Saatchi & Saatchi Sydney, in association with United Galleries, is proud to present a unique collection by talented sculptor and painter, Frank Malerba. The successful and enjoyable grand opening took place in the agency's gallery space last Thursday, 28th August.
Finding inspiration in the female form, larger than life laser cut steel sculpture of Girls in Black Boots greeted art patrons and agency guests, whilst large format canvas painting adorned the walls. Using a linear approach Malerba accentuated and captured the sense of movement that is unique to females.
The inspired combination of sculpture and painting made great use of the spectacular space, with the arrival of Frank’s muse, Monica, adding a real sense of occasion to the opening.
Running until 25th September, the collection is open the general public during working hours, Monday – Friday.
Malerba’s is first of several planned exhibitions for 2008 in association with United Galleries, further cementing the gallery space as a true cultural destination to see exciting, experimental and controversial artworks.
