Answering to the theme Northern Design, submissions were received from local, national and international designers and curators who wanted to take part in DE08, the fourth consecutive festival.
The submissions panel included Robert Urquhart, Christina Schmidt, Trevor Duncan, Alistair Robinson, Andrew Guest and Karen Stone who determined a core programme which Design Event commissioned.
Amongst others, DE08 will also present a sustainable lighting exhibition, a Scandinavian illustration exhibition, a fashion show, an alternative street tour of Sunderland and the Design Event Mart which will all take place over one weekend of the festival. A series of talks in association with Newcastle College featuring three exciting speakers will also take place at DanceCity, Newcastle.
