The Delaware Art Museum is throwing an incredible party inspired by the exhibition Garry Knox Bennett: Call Me Chairmaker. Pulling out all the stops with live music, cocktails, delicious cuisine, a fireworks display over the Copeland Sculpture Garden and a live auction of finely crafted chairs and a silent auction of “seats” to restaurants, theaters, and sporting events.
During the live auction, some of Garry Knox Bennett’s chairs (including Modified Nakashima) will be available, straight from the Chairmaker exhibition. Finely crafted chairs from around the region will also be up for auction, including chairs from Calico Corners and Van Heyneker Fine Woodworking.
The silent auction will offer an exclusive dinner for six on the Museum’s Chihuly Bridge courtesy of Sodexo, the Museum’s award-winning exclusive caterer.
In the spirit of charity, partygoers may also be photographed in Garry Knox Bennett's latest chair, which was inspired by the Museum’s Pre-Raphaelite collection, for $25 a piece.
