Move over Oscar de la Renta, and all you other already established bigwig designers. At this year’s Emmys, all eyes will be on the creations of two young novices. Both last season’s "Project Runway" winner, Christian Siriano, and reality television star-turned fashion designer, Lauren Conrad, will have their work showcased at the upcoming event.
Both Christian Siriano and Lauren Conrad will be designing gowns to be worn by trophy girls. Of the honor to design a gown for the hugely anticipated award show, Siriano said, “It has been so inspiring watching the Emmys every year to see who is going to be the most fabulous diva at the show. ... It will be such an experience seeing my own creation on stage."
It's likely that all the actors and writers hard at work making great television will be pleased to hear that Siriano has been watching the Emmys each year to spot the most “fabulous diva.”
As Siriano pours his heart and soul into his design (the diminutive designer is too much of a diva himself to let anyone else take creative control of such a huge opportunity), it is questionable how much work Conrad will actually do in creating the dress design.
