Leipziger Messe International Asia (LMI Asia) presents the official opening ceremony of Games Convention Asia 2008, the only event in the Asia-Pacific region dedicated for the interactive entertainment and digital media industries in the region.
The opening ceremony will be attended by special guest, Mr. Seto Lok Yin, Asst. Chief Executive Officer of Media Development Authority (MDA) and Mr. Wolfgang Marzin, CEO of Leipziger Messe International, who will give opening remarks and officially open the three-day convention.
Games Convention Asia (GCA) is the only international convention in the Asia Pacific region for the entire interactive entertainment, infotainment, edutainment, hardware and technology. GCA helps enable the interactive entertainment and digital media industries to network and interact with publishers, developers, distributors and corporate clients while showcasing their latest products and services to the public, GCA serves as the platform for Asian publishers, developers and distributors to present their work on an international level. The GCA features entertaining information, media education and dazzling events for the general public.
The first GCA in 2007 attracted 70,000 public visitors as well as 1,000 professional visitors and media representatives. After this debut, GCA is already known as the "Digital Media Gateway“to Asia – currently largest market for the video game industry with tremendous growth to be continued.
GCA 2008 will continue the concept of serving an international platform to the gaming industry.
