Activision’s success could enable the firm to influence the design of future generations of consoles, its chief executive has claimed.
Speaking at the Activision Blizzard Analyst Day in Los Angeles, Robert Kotick stated his belief that the Guitar Hero developer now has "the weight" to start influencing hardware design.
Kotick said such a move could have a "powerful impact" on Activision’s ability to capitalise on the marketplace dominated by feature films, TV or music, reports Games Industry.
He also said he is sure that the PlayStation 3 console has the technical capabilities to experience "at least eight years' success".
