A fruit bowl made from recycled products is the winner of 2008 Tasmanian Design Awards.
Chris Berndt started with 50 cents worth of waste material and has crafted a flat pack bowl that's been deemed worthy of the state's premier award for design ingenuity.
The Manager of Launceston's Design Centre, Rye Dunsmuir, says the winner has been judged on its originality, cost and its effect on the environment.
"Made up with a minimum of materials, using all waste products, and with a bit of clever thinking has turned something into a quite an innovative little product.
"With the nature being flat packed it can be quite easily transported all over the state or the world," said Mr Dunsmuir.
