“Our goal is to grow the market for sustainable materials and build our FSC-certified environmentally preferable product offerings,” says Greg Burdick, director, Graphics & Identification SBU for Neenah Paper.
“These decorative components are our latest example. They provide a green option for printed, embossed and decorated substrate surfaces on products such as book covers, passport covers and box wraps.”
Burdick notes that Neenah’s new FSC-Certified Decorative Papers can be used to provide book covers with aesthetic appeal such as faux leather with embossing and foil techniques. Box wrap made with the new materials can feature embellishments which increase the appeal and value of the box wrap.
“We believe this product offering will help the increased number of FSC-certified printers and converters who wish to supplement their sustainable paper choices with FSC-certified decorative components,” he says.
The new products will be produced in Neenah’s Munising, Mich. mill which achieved FSC-certification in April 2008.
“As the call for using FSC-certified products gets louder, we will continue to see more products such as Neenah’s being developed to meet market demands,” said Keri Davis, U.S. Chain of Custody Coordinator for SmartWood, the certification arm of the Rainforest Alliance.
