72andSunny is continuing its expansion in the US and Europe. The brand strategy, design and advertising company has named former telecom president and ad agency veteran Matt Jarvis as Managing Director and Chief Strategy Officer, where he'll oversee strategy and operations in both Los Angeles and Amsterdam.
The announcement coincides with the company's move into new offices in both cities, as it expands to accommodate its growing capabilities and resources.
In his new leadership role, Jarvis will be responsible for directing and managing operations across 72andSunny's Los Angeles and Amsterdam studios, and leading the company's strategy function. Jarvis joins a senior management team comprising 72andSunny co-founders John Boiler and Glenn Cole in Los Angeles, and Robert Nakata in Amsterdam, who launched the agency together in 2004.
"Our growth is happening because marketers are increasingly recognizing the results that our work is getting in the marketplace," said John Boiler, co-founder and creative director, 72andSunny. "Matt's addition brings even more strategic muscle on board to continue that trend.
In his previous positions, he's proven to be a strong visionary leader with a track record for growth. He's joining 72andSunny at the perfect time, because now that we've expanded in our capacity and efficiency in both the US and NL, we're ready for what we see coming next."
Jarvis is an ad agency veteran with over 15 years of experience. He was most recently executive vice president and director of account planning for Deutsch/LA, part of the Interpublic Group of Companies (IPG). His eight-year stint at the 350-plus person company was marked by numerous major account wins, including Sony PlayStation, Saturn and Dr Pepper.
During his tenure, Deutsch/LA was also recognized by both Adweek and Advertising Age as Agency of the Year. Prior to Deutsch, Jarvis held positions at Justice Technology Corp. and Publicis Groupe's Leo Burnett, Chicago.
Said Matt Jarvis, managing director, 72andSunny, "As a strategist, the 72andSunny culture is inspiring. They own their clients' problems across functions and are slavish to problem-solving and accountability. The thing that surprises people when they first work with 72andSunny is that it's actually a strategic shop first-it just happens to do some of the best creative work in the world."
