German Pfleiderer AG and IBM signed a seven-year outsourcing contract.
As part of the agreement, IBM will provide application hosting and management services out of Germany and Canada for all SAP Systems in Pfleiderer's worldwide locations. The flexible IBM SAP Application Delivery Center Model will enable Pfleiderer to use and pay for services according to its needs.
"By centralizing our IT activities, our processes can become more efficient and more flexible. IBM is a globally integrated service provider and is the optimal partner for us to support our global growth strategy," said Klaus Vogl, Group CIO of Pfleiderer AG.
The modular services and pricing model within this contract are specially designed for Pfleiderer. The solution is completely aligned to the requirements of the enterprise and has a high level of flexibility.
By consolidating the SAP environment and optimising SAP Application Maintenance, Pfleiderer could realize millions of dollars in potential cost savings.
These result from the latest IBM Delivery capabilities, which aim at maximising the effects of virtualisation, consolidation and centralisation. Moreover, Pfleiderer's employees can benefit from country specific support by IBM Application Management Services.

With its new IT infrastructure, Pfleiderer AG will be prepared for the future," said Christian Till Roga, director of outsourcing sales, IBM Germany.
The agreement was signed in September of 2008.
