The President's Design Award is Singapore's most prestigious award for its designers and designs.
It acknowledges that Singapore's design industry has reached a key milestone by attaining significant achievements in all disciplines of design.
The two awards that will be given out are Designer of the Year and Design of the Year which will be awarded to individuals and designs that are pushing the boundaries of Singapore design, tangibly making a difference to the lives of Singaporeans and larger global communities.
The award was first launched by The President of the Republic of Singapore in November 2005.
The inaugural awards were given out in 2006 and entered its second cycle in 2007.
The recipients of the President's Design Award 2008 will be announced in Singapore on 1st December 2008.
The President's Design Award is jointly organized by DesignSingapore Council and the Urban Redevelopment Authority.
This exhibition is part of the International Design Casa, Torino 2008 World Design Capital.
