The largest and most respected association of professional photographers in the world has recognized Canadian photography studio, Roël Photography, with its prestigious Studio-of-the-Month honor.
Roël Photography is only the third Canadian studio ever acknowledged as such by WPPI, (Wedding & Portrait Photographers International), which boasts more than 30,000 member wedding, portrait, commercial, lifestyle and fine art studios in 30 countries.
Roël Photography has also received Awards of Excellence in print and album competitions from WPPI.
Roël Dixon-Mahatoo, owner and lead photographer of the Stratford Ontario studio, is a Licensed Professional Engineer with an Honours B.A.Sc., from The University of Waterloo.
Having worked first as an engineer with IBM and Nortel, then as an executive with NYNEX (now Verizon Communications) and KPMG, Roël changed careers in the late 90's to follow his muse.
Acclaimed for the extraordinary passion he brings to his work, he is widely acknowledged for his high standards and innovative approach.
His popular studio now offers wedding and family photography services throughout Ontario and around the world in a fusion of the high fashion, classical portraiture, fine art and photojournalistic schools.
Roël is also the author of Africa: Beginning a Journey, a coffee table book of wildlife images produced in partnership with Plan Canada to help raise funds for AIDS-affected children.
