Pantone and X-Rite, in cooperation with HP, Adobe, Eizo, Shutterstock, HOW/PRINT and the Art Director’s Club, recently offered a digital color seminar to teach creative directors, designers and marketing professionals the best new ways to create, control and communicate color.
For creative professionals who take color seriously, they were taught the necessary knowledge and tools they needed to possess to ensure that their audience sees the color they experience.
The Color Control Freak seminar brings creatives up to speed on the latest technologies and best practices for selecting, specifying and controlling color from inspiration to final output.
Through a combination of interactive instruction and live demonstrations, the seminar focused on practical techniques such as maximizing design impact by using color psychology and trends, selecting colors with the confidence that they can be reproduced, creating palettes easily from photos, surfaces, objects or color relationships, calibrating monitors to improve color selection, editing and soft proofing, setting up applications, including Adobe CS2, 3 & 4, to properly handle color and achieving screen to print matching painlessly with media profiling.
Attendees received lunch and a complimentary Creative Color Toolkit, including the ColorMunki Create monitor calibrator and color selection software, an hour-long “Color Management Survival Guide” eLearning DVD, a seminar reference CD, a full-color presentation booklet and a coupon book with up to $800 in discounts from seminar sponsors.
At each event, drawings were also held to give away a Pantone GoeGuide and the hot new ColorMunki Design spectrophotometer.
