Elena Corchero a young fashion designer has won a trip to India after being named a finalist at the British Council’s UK Young Fashion Entrepreneur Awards.
She runs a company by the name of Lost Values which led her to winning the award.
Elena Corchero specializes in developing products that recapture values lost over time by integrating them with the latest technologies.
Her collections include clothing containing solar cells and soft toys that help parents record personalized messages.
In being among the top five finalists at the awards, she has got the opportunity with five other finalists to visit India and interact with designers and understand better the Indian fashion industry.
The UK Young Fashion Entrepreneur Award is one of nine awards for creative entrepreneurs that have been developed by the British Council with support from the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts and the cultural leadership programme.
Over 30 fashion entrepreneurs applied for the award and nine candidates went through the grueling interviews with the judges, which included Ms Anna Orsini from the British Fashion Council.
