The 2009 Audi R8 delivered to DFW Elite Auto Rental is among the very first R8s available for rental in the U.S.
Because the Audi factory produces only 15 cars per day, consumers wanting to buy the R8 can expect to join a long waiting list. For many car enthusiasts, renting the Audi R8 probably is the only way to get behind the wheel of this mid-engine supercar for an extended test drive," said DFW Elite Auto Rental GM Tom Warren.
The all-wheel-drive Audi R8 is powered by a 4.1 liter aluminum block V8 engine and sprints to 60 MPH in 4.5 seconds with a top speed of 187 MPH.
Special options on the newly-arrived rental R8 include OEM GPS, black carbon sigma interior and matching alcantara headliner and premium Bang & Olafsen sound system.
Expect to stand out in traffic because this brilliant red Audi also has contrasting carbon sigma sideblades.
"We are excited to have the 2009 Audi R8 in our collection of available exotic car rentals just in time for the holidays," said Tom Warren, General Manger of the DFW exotic car rental company.
"The R8 is a car that many of our best performance car rental clients requested we acquire," said Warren. "Our car club members have also been eagerly anticipating the arrival of the R8, so it promises to be on the road a lot in coming months," he added.
In an issue dedicated to the Top 20 cars of 2008, the writers at Road and Track magazine reported that "[the R8] delivers exotic-level performance and impeccable handling balance while providing day-in, day out usability, refinement, and comfort."
