SfL+a Architects has announced that Daniel J. Robinson, AIA, has joined the firm as a Principal and Director of the Charlotte Operations.
In this role, Robinson will have complete responsibility for the performance and operation of SfL+a’s Charlotte office. His duties will include operations, staff and client management, as well as direct project participation as a senior registered architect.
Robinson’s career in the architectural industry spans more than 26 years. His extensive portfolio includes estate residential projects in California, Colorado and North Carolina, large scale commercial and retail projects, mountain resort condominiums and higher education projects, including campus master plans, student housing and large scale renovations.
Prior to joining SfL+a Architects, he served as the National Director of Architecture for a public company developing a proprietary system for designing and building custom home projects nation wide. As a member of the firm’s management team, he supervised zone architects and design teams, developing unique residential projects in North Carolina and the Gulf Coast.
Robinson is a past recipient of the Major Achievements in Marketing Excellence (MAME) Award, which recognizes leaders in the industry who provide cutting edge solutions in the home building industry.
He is an active member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and a past member of the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) and the National Trust for Historic Preservation. He holds a Bachelor of Environmental Design degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder and an Associate of Arts in Architecture from L.A. Pierce College.
