LCS The Media Experts recently towed an on water billboard in Auckland Harbor establishing it as the first amphibious billboard to be displayed in New Zealand.
The large format, mobile inflatable sign was pulled throughout the Auckland Harbor by a small vessel and featured banners promoting a new airline company called Jetstar Airways.
As the first amphibious billboard in New Zealand, the innovative medium’s 450 square feet of advertising space caught the eyes and attention of curious onlookers including commuter traffic on the Auckland Harbor bridge.
The patented advertising billboards, designed and distributed by the United States based corporation bbi Display Systems, (bbi), have already been successfully introduced in several other countries and are widely used by many major brands. A few advertisers who have used the medium for promotions and campaigns include Heineken, Disney, McDonald’s, Honda and Toyota.
