The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design is organizing the 2009 American Architecture Awards in association with The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies and Metropolitan Arts Press Ltd.
This new design competition has been created in an attempt to honor new architecture, landscape architecture, interiors, and urban planning projects designed in the United States.
The program is organized and curated by the Finnish architect and architecture journalist, Christian K. Narkiewicz- Laine, Museum President of The Chicago Athenaeum.
In 2008, hundreds of submissions for this Awards Program were received by the Museum from architecture, landscape architecture, and urban planning firms across the United States.
66 projects were selected by a distinguished jury composed of Greek architects and architectural journalists in Athens, Greece and were honored with the 2008 American Architecture Awards. Over 60 of America's most prominent architecture firms were recognized.
The deadline for the 2009 submissions is 1 February 2009.
