The lobby of the Trianon Palace Hotel de Versailles won the award as the Best Lobby for its "ability to express the spirit of a historic place using contemporary expressive canons" at the 11th edition of the European Hotel Design Awards.
The focus of attention in the lobby is the Murano glass structure from Andromeda. It is the first custom-made creation to use the Knit element conceived by Karim Rashid in a structural and decorative concept by Michela Vianello, Art Director of Andromeda.
Two metres high, weighing 150 kg and consisting of 1300 knit elements in cut glass and mirrored silver, this hanging structure is a source of energy and ethereal light, a delicate presence in the lobby, communicating unostentatious luxury.
