The Lake Norman Home Builders Association (LNHBA) recently honored EFC Builders with three awards in conjunction with its Best of the Lake design competition.
Each year these awards recognize outstanding design in three areas: new custom home, new speculative home and home renovations.
This was the award program’s fifth year; each year EFC Builders has entered the competition and has been honored every year since 2005.
A panel of independent industry experts judged 64 entries.
A new home built by EFC Builders in Falls Cove, a Crescent Resources community in Troutman, took first place in the new speculative home (under 3,000 square feet) category.
One of the key focal points of the home is its soaring fireplace in the gathering room.
Built with river rock stone, its raised hearth soars to the second floor ceiling. It also has a hefty rough hewn cedar beam mantle.
EFC Builders was awarded second place in the custom home (under 4,000 square feet) category for a waterfront home designed and built last year in Sherrills Ford.
In addition to the homes’ expansive decks on all levels and its unique commercial door usage to a screened porch, the judges were particularly impressed by the complexity of construction that EFC Builders faced when placing the home as close to the waters edge as local restrictions allowed.
In addition, the home rested on a 120 foot vertical drop above the water.
The company also received second place in the whole house renovations category for the transformation of a lake view home in Mooresville.
An existing older home, EFC Builders worked with the homeowners to achieve their goals of improving curb appeal; updating the interior design and functionality; and, incorporated low-maintenance products such as high quality vinyl siding.
The awards were presented to EFC Builders by Mr. Tim Kirk, general manager of hhgregg Fine Lines, sponsoring host of the awards ceremony.
Kirk said, “EFC Builders continues to exemplify the quality workmanship and design expertise of the Lake Norman area home builders."
"This is evidenced by the awards they continue to receive year after year.”
