HP announced that Lifetouch, the largest employee-owned photography company in the world, took another step in its commitment to implementing leading-edge technologies with the installation of two HP Indigo 7000 Digital Presses.
With these new presses, Lifetouch is well equipped to provide high-quality yearbooks with a quick turnaround time for preschools and schools.
Lifetouch selected the HP Indigo 7000 based on the technology’s unique ability to provide the speed and cost efficiency of digital printing with true offset quality.
“HP Indigo technology provides exceptional-quality output, allowing our company to exceed customer expectations for colorful, vivid yearbooks,” said Dave Birkemeier, vice president of manufacturing, Lifetouch.
“In addition to outstanding quality, the HP Indigo 7000 allows Lifetouch to take a yearbook from a digital proof to a final product quickly, satisfying our need for very fast turnaround time.”
Lifetouch took interest in the new press to expand its digital color printing operation for yearbook production.
The company is a long-time HP Indigo press user and participated in the beta customer program for the HP Indigo 7000.

Delivering fast production speeds of 120 high-quality four-color A4-size pages per minute with true offset and photo quality, the HP Indigo 7000 Digital Press provides print service providers engaged in general commercial, direct-marketing, photo specialty and book and publications printing a versatile, one-of-a-kind digital solution.
The press enables up to 7-color printing, providing the widest digital color gamut with 4-, 6- or 7-color Pantone emulation including Pantone Goe and off-press mixing of true spot colors.
