Presented in conjuection with GQ magazine, Andy Warhol: Motion Pictures is the exhibition project of MoMA, Moscow Museum of Modern Art and marka: ff. On display are the best videos of the Pop Art legend: 18 silent films and screen tests of beautiful, young and talented superstars - the artist’s contemporaries, friends of the legendary Factory studio.
Eighty years have passed since pop art king’s birth, but his stylish black-and-white films still look fresh, as if they were shot yesterday. A daring attempt to unite the subject and the theme of the portrait, opened a new artistic trend, and enabled the author to create deeply individual images.
In five years the exhibition has traveled around North America and Western Europe. Warhol’s motion pictures will be surprising Moscow public for a month and a half - before the big retrospective show in MoMa.
