Miami Fashion Week 2009 is going to be held at SOHO Studios from 19 March – 22 March 2009. The International Alliance of Fashion Retailers (IAFR) has partnered with the Council of International Fashion Designers (CIFD) to launch the first annual Buyers Salon at Miami Fashion Week.
Miami Fashion Week, the largest Latin American and international fashion event in the US will present the latest Spring preview of over 60 of the most exciting emerging and established designers from throughout North, South and Central America including Mexico and the Caribbean as well as international designers from Spain, Italy, Australia, U.A.E., Pakistan, South Africa, Eastern European and India to name just a few. Categories include women's evening wear and prêt-a-porter, swimwear, men's wear, jewelry and accessories.
Miami Fashion Week celebrates its 11th year presenting these runway collections to over 500 international media and in 2008 hosted over 270 buyers from throughout the world. The Buyers Salon, only open to participating MFW designers will be set up for designers to meet with individual US and international retail buyers to present and review their collections one on one.
Designers will be welcomed by keynote speakers Michelle Harrison, President of Michelle Harrison & Associates international showroom (Atlanta) and Mercedes Gonzalez, President of Global Purchasing Group (New York City) Miami Fashion Week has earned an international reputation for introducing the hottest new designers to the US market.
Robin Fleming, President of IAFR is thrilled with the association as a new venue for the top specialty store buyers in the US and internationally to meet some of the best new design talent in the world.
