The Vanguard Best of the Web Awards, an annual competition that honors extraordinary Web sites, recently honored Masonite.com with a "Best Design" accolade for its informative and organized design.
The Web site, designed by Florida-based Web design and online marketing firm THAT Agency, was accorded the prestigious title by a discerning panel of judges, who commended Masonite.com's clarity and elegant simplicity.
Masonite, a leading door manufacturer, first entrusted THAT Agency with the task of developing its online presence in July of 2007.
Special recognition was also awarded to Masonite.com's homepage, where a scroll of photos allows visitors to browse upwards of 24 Masonite doors.
The unique photo slider, implemented by THAT's expert web developers and designers, is just one of several features that highlight THAT Agency's ingenuity.
"We wanted to present Masonite's most popular doors in a unique way," asserts Bill Teubner, President of THAT Agency. "So we developed the site's interactive door slider, which enables users to view a prime selection of doors in actual residential settings."
"That way, Masonite.com visitors could literally flip through the slider and discover their ideal door."
Other desirable design features included color, large lettering, and user-friendly navigation.
Judges, who varied in terms of Internet experience and proficiency, acknowledged those websites that delivered product information creatively, clearly, and effectively.
The Vanguard Best of Awards competition honored Masonite.com, along with 20 other Web sites that displayed pertinent product information, aesthetically-pleasing designs, and user-friendly navigation.
Of the 21 sites selected, 5 were declared the "Best in Class" for categories including Best Design, Best Overall, Best Product Information for Professionals, and Best Navigation.
The competition, held in early November, is sponsored by Building Products, Britain's premier building and construction magazine.
