Ten homes have been selected to win the 'Blue Ribbon Award' for the Building Industry Association's 2007 Parade of Homes Tour.
The good news for Dominick Tringali Architects is that four of the ten homes were designed by the firm. Ten of the total 58 homes on the tour were designed by DTA.
“We were glad to hear it because this shows that our firm is able to create product that excites both builders and homebuyers in this difficult housing market,” said Dominick Tringali, President of DTA.
J.R. Ruthig, Managing Designer for Dominick Tringali Architects said, “Our firm relies upon several key principles when designing new product for our builders. We need to design homes that help builders develop a successful product, by giving buyers a reason to move from their existing homes.”
“A few of these principles include: adding more usable space in our homes, with less total square footage; better designs with proper details; adding outdoor living spaces into our designs; making our homes more efficient to operate with energy star ratings and sustainable products; making our homes healthier to live in by implementing healthy home concepts; and by using value engineering to reduce costs for builders, enabling them to lower prices of homes.”
These strategies have helped to create the firm's success both locally and nationally. Builders across the United States, from Oregon to Ohio, are finding value in homes designed by DTA.
The firm has started design work on its fifteenth community in North and South Carolina together with Simonini Builders of Charlotte N.C.
By broadening their scope of work, having three employees currently working towards LEED certification, researching and taking on active adult housing projects, and by applying their experience and knowledge of what sells in this current market, Dominick and his firm continue to implement key initiatives into their design services to ensure that any product designed by Dominick Tringali Architects will be a successful one.
