Merecdes-Benz Australia Fashion Week
The Asia Pacific has become the biggest ticket in the world right now with a number of the world's leading fashion events, designers and big fashion names focusing their attention on the region. This growth has long been talked about, but now its international influence has been seen as far a field as New York, Milan and Paris where the inspiration emanating from our region is undeniable.

The upcoming Singapore Fashion Festival (SFF06) and Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) in India offers a focus for key international fashion players in the region. Labels including Missoni, Diane Von Furstenburg, and Ferragamo at SFF and Wendell Rodricks and Sabyasachi to name a few at LFW, are all vying to showcase in the world's most burgeoning market. Supermodel Gisele Bundchen flew into Hong Kong to launch her latest campaign for Louis Vuitton and back home, David Jones' Winter in the Orient campaign featuring Megan Gale was shot in China, further demonstrating the influence the region has on international creative industries.

And soon, all eyes turn to Sydney. With Mercedes Australian Fashion Week just around the corner, the rush to secure spots on the official schedule at MAFW has been matched only by the phenomenal interest shown from buyers and media across the globe. There is no doubt that now is an incredible time for Asia Pacific designers with sights on the lucrative international market.

MAFW fast approaching

It's now just less than six weeks until IMG FASHION Asia Pacific presents its jewel in the crown, Mercedes Australian Fashion Week Spring Summer 2006/07 Collections.
