The Housewares Design Awards, recognizing the best-designed new housewares products were presented in a ceremony at the Marriott Marquis in New York's Times Square.
The Awards honored 13 Best in Category winners. Out of the Best in Category winners, three overall Best of the Best winners were also named and presented with Bronze, Silver and, at the highest level, Gold honors.
An independent judging panel selected products based on superior design, appearance, function and originality.
Taking home the coveted Best of the Best, Gold was The Box Grater from Microplane, which also won in the Kitchen Hand Tools category.
The Best of the Best, Silver Award went to the Dyson DC24 from Dyson Inc., which also took home honors in the Floor Care Electrics category.
Best of the Best, Bronze Award went to the OXO Good Grips POP Container from Helen of Troy L.P., which also received recognition in the Kitchenware and Barware category.
In addition, the first-ever “Green House” Design Awards recognized housewares for their design as well as their eco-friendly qualities.
Winners are Cuisinart’s CleanWater Countertop Filtration System; NatureMill’s NatureMillPro and Preserve’s Preserve Kitchen.
Merchandising Excellence Awards were also presented to leading retailers.
