Gallery KH started off 2009 with a bang as it opened Roman Zaslonov: From Russia with Love. This is the first solo exhibition of a private collection of Roman Zaslonov’s work in the United States and Gallery KH is honored to have been selected to showcase the exhibit.
“We are thrilled to have this rare opportunity to host such an extraordinary exhibit,” said Kristen Hagan, Gallery KH Co-Director.
“One of the things that makes this show truly unique is the fact that the collection is privately held and being shown together for the first time publicly.”
The paintings of Roman Zaslonov have long been celebrated for their whimsical, neo-romantic and theatrical qualities.
His fanciful compositions are harmonious, inventive and truly original. Zaslonov’s paintings have become highly sought after and are now obtainable mainly by commission only.
Said Hagan, “All of the pieces are available for sale and the response has been overwhelming, given the fact that the current wait time for a piece is close to two years.”
Born in the Soviet Union in 1962, Zaslonov studied for 13 years at the Russian Academy of Fine Arts in Minsk, Belarus. Upon moving to France in the 1990s, he won instant acclaim, including First Prize at the Salon d’Automne in 1997, and gained an international following that continues today.
