Adventure Art Becomes Niche In Fine Art World
PRESS RELEASE

January 2009

Artists, Don Gaconnet and Christine Sutor of GahSonay Adventure Art Studio created a new niche in the world of fine art when they combined their fine art painting skills and their passion for adventure sports like bicycling.

The artists began painting their first bicycle fine art works in late 2008 in their Santa Rosa California studio. To date they’ve completed eight original never before seen paintings.

The artists grew increasingly frustrated in the lack of adventure fine art available for purchase, and decided to begin painting works that captured the emotion of adventure sports and nature themselves.

To their surprise, they stumbled upon a new niche in the world of art and as their works have grown in popularity they have steadily continued creating new original works to be displayed worldwide.

“I love the work you guys have done–really beautiful stuff!” said Carlos Perez, Editor in Chief, Bike Monkey Magazine

“We are so excited about what you are doing. I’m very excited about your work and our upcoming events,” said Dave Townsend Bicycles for Humanity, President, Santa Rosa Chapter

“Really lovely stuff,” said Philip Keyes, Executive Director, NEMBA

The artists capture the true feeling, movement and beauty of the outdoors and combine these with the excitement of adventure sports, like road and mountain bicycling. The result is spectacular acrylic paintings that blur the boundaries between fine art, traditional landscape painting and adventure sports.

The style is so unique that it has created a new niche in the world of art and adventure sports called “Adventure Fine Art.”

Using their brushes, the artists create a varied array of effects like speed, movement, and the energy of an adventure sport activity like riding a bike in a triathlon and combine it with a beautiful landscape or nature scene. The end result is really something you have to see to appreciate fully.
