The new “OLED Design Contest – CombOLED Edition” is now ready to give you the opportunity to rule your lighting future shaping applications using unique low-cost transparent OLED devices.
This contest is opened to everybody from students to professionals with the aim to help you express your revolutionary vision of light. You’ll have the chance to win a consistent award and, more than that, to have your ideas realized as demonstrator from the Consortium partners.
Within the 7th Framework Program, the European Union has decided to invest on an Integrated European Project (named CombOLED) in order to reduce the overall OLED’s costs and to produce the first transparent OLED devices on large lighting area. The project will finish end of December 2011 presenting with four general demonstrators to the EU commission.
The “OLED Design Contest – CombOLED Edition” is the new design idea’s competition expressly arranged in conjunction with the European CombOLED Project acting as the main channel to collect the potential general demonstrator application adopting OLEDs as light sources.
The contest is launched with the aim of connecting the research & development running activities of the early-mentioned European project with the possible future applications of the lighting industry adopting OLED device. Based on extremely innovative transparent feature and on the final low cost of the next-to-come OLED device investigated by the project, participants are invited to submit solutions preferably on the following market fields:
The contest intends to be a tool focused to highlight originality and versatility of this new technology by taking full advantage of the peculiar characteristics in terms of features and price objectives of the CombOLED Project.
