A new exhibition opening in Rome this weekend offers a fresh glimpse into the mind of fashion photographer Richard Avedon - dozens of previously unseen photographs he shot in the 1940s and 1950s will go on display, including many taken at the same sessions as photographs that appeared in magazines such as Vogue and Glamour.
The show, which opens in the Musei Capitolini and Villa Medici, features unedited, black-and-white photographs by Mr.Avedon of the late model Anne Theophane Graham, who was one of the photographer's early muses.
In the miniature stills, Ms.Graham is pictured in an opulent ballroom, donning a shimmering Christian Dior ball gown, surrounded by party-goers.
