Raymond Tao has been made President of Ogilvy & Mather Advertising, China.
A native of Beijing, Raymond joined the agency in 1993 as an Account Executive. This promotion is recognition of his wealth of local knowledge and experience and his more than 15 years of service to Ogilvy’s Chinese and multinational clients.
Tao will initially play a dual role, assuming the Managing Director position overseeing Ogilvy Advertising Beijing while also leading the advertising discipline at the country level.
Based in Beijing, he will report directly to Shenan Chuang, CEO of Ogilvy & Mather Group, China and will carry a matrix reporting line to David Mayo, President of Ogilvy Advertising, Asia Pacific.
In his previous role as Vice President of O&M’s Beijing office, Tao’s responsibilities included overseeing key accounts such as Motorola and China Mobile, as well as business development, operations management and professional training.
