A wall mounted lighting control panel with an intuitive user interface, superb aesthetics and broad configurability.
Customer research has been the driver, we wanted people to understand the controls first time without instruction, the control's spatial relationships allow for intuitive use.
Backlit touch sensitive scene buttons give a reassuring audible click, with active buttons brighter.
The scene buttons re-program and text insert easily changed with any image background.
The power button uses an internationally known 'light bulb on' icon, backlit with a light halo to engage the user and is central to reinforce its primacy, the other functions are apparent as the user comes near.
Placed around the power button, the rotary bezel form is devoid of fussiness.
The panel's neutral tones compliment any room decor, with the cover reducing the visual depth of the panel, absorbing incidental light creating a glow around the panel.
The form expresses the panel's integrity - nothing more, nothing less, the aesthetics used understand the panel's use clearly.
Most light control panels are limited by their scene function labeling, using engraving or print for the label text, which is fixed.
To overcome this at low cost we used quick change inserts to give freedom to the users to re-program the panel during its working life, or to re-employ the panel to a new environment.
