February 2009
The Department of Design at the Universidad Iberoamericana announced the call for participation for the third edition of the MX design Conference.
To participate in this year's event, the Design Department is calling for submissions of article abstracts and project descriptions (in poster format) that address the theme "Design's Social Impact."
In light of current pressing global changes, such as the economic crisis, global warming and growing social inequality, it is more urgent than ever that we seek new visions and actions to balance humanity's imminent broad social and cultural diversity, environmental issues and course of progress.
For this reason, the MX Design Conference 2009 will focus on reflection and learning, based on the theory and practice of design areas that seek to stabilise social, ecological and economic development in order to contribute to a sustainable society.
MX Design Conference 2009 is an open forum for designers, faculty, graduate and undergraduate students from all disciplines (industrial, textile, graphic, new media) to participate in three days of lectures, exhibitions, celebrations and cultural activities.
