Drawing is enjoying a renaissance in contemporary Australian art and “I Walk The Line” is a an exhibition that examines new approaches to the discipline and its reinvigoration by many (mostly young) artists from across the nation who spear-headed its resurgent popularity.
This exhibition approaches drawing with the tradition definition of it as ‘mark-making’ but extends its focus to performative works that feature the production of marks as well as art objects. And as a result, “I Walk The Line” includes both drawings and works about it.
The range of works comprises collaborative and performative drawings, animation, as well as works that feature the cross-over between drawing and the graphic arts.
