February 2009
Fujitsu Limited and Fujitsu Laboratories Limited have received the ‘IT and Electronics Award’ at the recent ‘nano tech 2009 International Exhibition and Conference’ in Tokyo in February.
At an awards ceremony in Tokyo, Professor Tomoji Kawai, Chairman of the nano tech Executive Committee, stated that the IT and Electronics Award was awarded to the companies for their proposals of various applications of nano-carbon materials–such as carbon nanotube (CNT) transistors, CNT interconnects, and CNT-graphene composites–for semiconductor electronics, and their potential for paving the way toward the realization of "carbon electronics" comprised of carbon-based structural elements.
Award eligibility was open to all of the 603 corporations and organizations that exhibited at ‘nano tech 2009,’ as well as exhibitors at ‘Nano Bio Expo 2009,’ which was held concurrently with the nano tech event at the Tokyo Big Sight international exhibition center.
Dr. Yuji Awano, a senior research fellow at the Nanotechnology Research Center of Fujitsu Laboratories Limited said, “Fujitsu Limited and Fujitsu Laboratories are honored to win this IT and Electronics Award at nano tech 2009. We would like to thank our collaborators at private corporations, universities and independent administrative institutions for their contributions to the Fujitsu exhibit. We at Fujitsu believe that our innovative technologies for nano-carbon materials and devices will help pave the way for the realization of carbon electronics.”
