Winter Park Resort Names Cactus Agency Of Record

Winter Park Resort has hired Denver-based advertising agency Cactus to grow its brand and promote its world class skiing and riding.

The commitment solidifies a long-term partnership between Cactus and Winter Park, who have worked together on projects including the ‘Railyard Terrain Park and Detention,’ a youth rail series sponsored by Own Your C.

“The extensive real estate expansion and mixed-use development here has set the stage for a more integrated, resort-based marketing effort,” said Mary Woolwine, Winter Park Director of Marketing.

“We only interviewed a handful of agencies and we were impressed with not only their creative, but the strategic thinking Cactus brought to the table.”

The oldest continually operated ski resort in Colorado, Winter Park is located just northwest of the Continental Divide, and is home to the National Sports Center for the Disabled.

In the past five years Winter Park has invested more than $40 million in on-mountain enhancements including four new chairlifts, award-winning terrain expansions and nationally recognized terrain parks.

The resort’s on-mountain improvements are complemented with a new major base area development including close to 20,000sqft of restaurants, retail and living space.

“At Cactus, we’ve always worked with client partners to make our home state of Colorado a better place to live, work and play. That is certainly the case with Colorado’s favorite mountain playground,” said Joe Conrad, Cactus founder, CEO and Strategic Director.

“As a Colorado native who grew up skiing at Winter Park Resort, I’m thrilled to put our agency to work to grow their brand.”

Cactus has added more than a dozen new team members in the last six months, has doubled its revenue in the last two years, and is quickly approaching $20 million in client billings.
