In a unique arrangement, Dubai Lynx has teamed up with Leo Burnett to form ‘The Lynx Academy,’ a dedicated learning environment for 20 students from across the MENA region.
Launching this year, the academy will be a permanent addition to the festival offering an educational programme during the three-day event.
As well as benefiting from the various Dubai Lynx festival activities, which include seminars, screenings, exhibitions and workshops, each year the academy students will enjoy their own unique master-classes and tutorials given by top industry figures, which will further enhance their learning experience.
Additionally, the top three students will be offered four-weeks work experience in a Leo Burnett office. Expanding their knowledge about the advertising and communications industry, as well as being accompanied by a tutor, this year’s participating students will enjoy exclusive lectures from top international advertising professionals. Academy activities will culminate in a graduation ceremony.
"As a leading communications group, it is our responsibility to support the future talent of our industry. It therefore takes serious commitment and investment to encourage new university students to actively live the challenges of business, so that upon their graduation, they are fully prepared for a career in the communications industry," says Raja Trad, CEO of Leo Burnett Group Mediterranean.
"That is why, when Dubai Lynx approached us with the proposal to sponsor the Lynx Academy, we did not hesitate since it is very much in line with our own vision and strategy to nurture future talent in the advertising business," continued Trad.
"We are delighted to work with Leo Burnett in launching the Lynx Academy in 2009. In bringing students to Dubai Lynx from countries all over the region they have shown a commitment for professional development of the highest order, a commitment that will improve the skill base of the region and give these students an even greater opportunity to prosper," said Philip Thomas, Festival CEO.
