Global Imaging Systems, Inc., a Xerox Corporation company, has completed its acquisition of ComDoc, one of the independent dealers of document management solutions.
This acquisition gives Global Imaging Systems access to more than 14,000 new customers and an increased presence in four states.
"This move opens up opportunities to bring new solutions to our existing customers, expand our customer base and align with the long-time industry leader," said Riley Lochridge, CEO, ComDoc.
The CEO Global Imaging Systems, Larry Frank added, "In a rapidly consolidating marketplace, it is advantageous for us to operate from a stronger competitive position, while remaining an independent business within Global Imaging."
ComDoc, founded in 1955, currently employs 640 people. Lochridge and Frank will continue in their positions at ComDoc, and Gordy Opitz maintains his role as the company's president. ComDoc has offices in Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York and West Virginia.
"We are focused on providing the best service for our growing base of small, mid-sized and major account businesses," said Michael Shea, president and CEO of Global Imaging Systems.
"With ComDoc, we are significantly expanding our distribution in the U.S., bringing our combined strengths in document technology and services to help businesses efficiently manage and streamline information."
Through its acquisition strategy, Xerox continues to identify successful companies in markets that align with its commitment to innovation and reducing the complexity of document management.
