February 2009
Screenwriters, producers, directors and filmmakers met and mingled for two days to celebrate the Cinema City International Film Festival (CCIFF) Screenwriters Competition at a Pre-Oscar Mixer and Black Tie Gala. Out hundreds of screenplays submitted, twenty were selected for awards and recognition.
"This is a special year for us," said film producer Suzanne DeLaurentiis,
"We are proud to launch our grant foundation for filmmakers who show talent, determination and integrity in their work."
The CCIFF is dedicated to supporting talented screenwriters by utilizing the resources of the Festival to foster the winning screenwriters through networking opportunities, and film industry access. Filmmaker Danny LeGare is the first recipient of the Award and is currently in production on his first feature film with Suzanne DeLaurentiis Productions called ‘New Hope Manor.’
CCIFF has continued to gain notoriety since it was named by Movie Maker Magazine as one of the top 25 film festivals in the country.
