The 2009 Kölner Klopfer goes to the German light designer Ingo Maurer.
Since 1996 students of the Cologne International School of Design have been honoring "the world's best designer" annually with this award.
Last year the stylized rabbit made of gold-plated silicon went to Stefan Sagmeister.
The award will be bestowed on May 8, 2009 in the Cologne International School of Design.
