Gravtias, a residential design firm based in Boise, has been awarded by Timber Home Living magazine, the Top 5 Plans distinction for its work on a project titled ‘The Escalante.’
For the design firm’s achievement, Timber Home Living describes the plan as “teetering on the cutting edge.”
“If showcasing the versatility of timber-home design were a prizefight, The Escalante would come in as a floor plan heavyweight. An arching exterior façade hints at the home’s unique layout. Encompassing every conceivable amenity from covered balconies to an outdoor kitchen to an elevator that’s accessible from the pantry as well as the hallway (making bringing in the groceries from the basement level garage a breeze) to built-in shelving and art niches, this plan is long on sophistication. Three Rumsford fireplaces (the master suite, the recreation room and the balcony) deliver supplemental heat with style, but its’ the savvy use of every square inch that’s sure to warm you up to this amazing design,” elaborates the magazine.
