Ogilvy New York Names New Leaders

Ogilvy New York has announced the appointment of Simon Pearce as Managing Director of Ogilvy & Mather Advertising and Harvey Kipnis as Managing Director of OgilvyOne, strengthening the leadership of the agency's advertising and one-to-one marketing disciplines.

And both have a track-record of success … inspiring big ideas that sell in the marketplace," said Carla Hendra, Chairman of Ogilvy New York and CEO, Ogilvy North America.

These moves expand and deepen Ogilvy's multi-discipline leadership team in the agency's largest operation worldwide.

In their new roles, Simon and Harvey will partner with other Ogilvy business leaders including JP Maheu, Chief Digital Officer, Greg Smith, COO of Neo@Ogilvy, Kate Cronin, Managing Director, Ogilvy Public Relations, Sheila Hartnett, CEO of OgilvyAction, and Donna Tuths, President of OgilvyHealthworld.

"Ogilvy continues to transform as a multi-discipline communications company; we will never stop adapting our structure and expanding our offering to meet our clients' changing business needs," said John Seifert, Chairman of Ogilvy North America.

Simon Pearce will now be responsible for the New York office's advertising business, focusing on both current clients and new business development. He will continue to lead the American Express account globally.

A native of the United Kingdom, Pearce has 20 years experience in advertising and marketing on both the client and agency sides of the business. His agency experience spans DMB&B, Young and Rubicam, Wieden and Kennedy and McCann Erickson, where he was Managing Director of World Creative Group prior to joining Ogilvy. On the client side, he has worked for Guinness and Coca-Cola.

As head of OgilvyOne NY, Kipnis' will drive continued growth of one-to-one marketing (digital marketing, direct marketing, CRM, loyalty and new practices built around "The Long Tail"). He will continue to lead his portfolio of OgilvyOne accounts, including IBM demand generation and TD Ameritrade.

Kipnis has 25 years experience in direct marketing and advertising. He was last with Digitas NY before joining Ogilvy.
