Blue Water Media, a web design agency in Washington DC, has been honored with a Gold Award for innovative design by the American Design Awards.
The American Design Awards competition aims to reward those who have made graphic or web design their careers and uphold such ethical guidelines on a day to day basis.
Other considerations for an award are creativity and talent, marketability and effectiveness, as well as practicality and general design abilities.
Blue Water Media submitted a restaurant website they had recently built for Vinifera Wine Bar & Bistro.
The website offers a unique design that captures the personality of the restaurant and breaks from traditional 2 or 3 column web page layouts.
Blue Water Media's lead designer, Jen Koscielniak, had this to say about receiving the award, "We greatly appreciated receiving the award and being recognized for our creative efforts."
"It is particularly rewarding with this website because we didn't use any flash animation on the site."
"Most of the web sites in the competition relied heavily on flash to achieve their design goals - we didn't, and we still won the gold."
Over the near decade that Blue Water Media has been designing websites, the Blue Water Media team has won several awards for excellence in design.
