Eminent fashion designer, Deepak Singh of Onedzyn, was recently invited by the Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry in New Delhi to unveil his Spring Summer 09 collection to the presence of trade and industry personalities including Fashion Design Council Of India’s president, Sunil Sethi, herbal cosmetic brand queen of India, Shahnaz Hussain and the Secretary General of the Indian Chambers of Commerce (ICC), R.P. Swami.
In a speech at the event, Swami acknowledged the efforts of Deepak Singh in helping Indian artisans come out of their traditional designs and experiment the fusion of Indian and modern expressions.
Deepak has been on this social endeavour for ten years and is the first Indian designer known to have worked with international designers on imparting training and design to the underprivileged to enable them earn their livelihood by little training in design by way of making simple woven tops to beautifully crafted handbags.
Indian Chambers of Commerce (ICCI) recognized him for his efforts by presenting him a trophy and certificate in front of leading members of trade and industry and announced him as talent in industry to watch for in coming years.
